Airtel plans to launch 4G LTE services in Delhi from September onwards

By Vijay @ 01:14pm

Bharti Airtel is gearing up to roll out 4G networks in Delhi in September, Telecomtiger reports. Airtel already started 4G services in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune and Chandigarh, and it also had plans to expand its 4G network services to Delhi and Mumbai circles by the end of the year.

According to this report, a company insider has revealed that it will first launch 4G LTE network in Delhi, which will soon be followed by Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala.

In terms of hardware and infrastructure support, Huawei is expected to take care of the hardware as well as planning, designing, supplying and deployment of the operator’s network in Delhi. Airtel had earlier tied up with ZTE for rolling out 4G services in Kokata.

Along with Airtel, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio is also expected to launch its 4G LTE service by early 2014. While Airtel’s 4G network is so far restricted to data dongles and modems only, Reliance Jio will launch voice over LTE in India
