Samsung Galaxy S5 now available for Rs 44,000 under buyback offer

Samsung has announced a buyback offer on its flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone, which is priced at Rs 51,500/- in India. Under this scheme, you can exchange an old smartphone to get a rebate of Rs 7,500/- on the price of the Galaxy S5, which will cost Rs 44,000/- after discount. This is not it as the company has also included non-smartphones or feature phones under this offer, and is offering a discount of at least Rs 5,000 on exchange of such a phone for a new unit of Galaxy S5. This scheme is valid till May 31, 2014.

In addition to the discount on exchange of a phone, Samsung is also giving away vouchers worth Rs 5,000 for its eStore, using which one can buy accessories and more of the same value from the store for free.

Besides the buyback scheme, the company has advertised an EMI scheme on the phone, under which a user can own a new unit of the Galaxy S5 by paying Rs 2,444 per month for 18 months. The offer is valid only for the HDFC credit card holders. However the company’s eStore mentions that a user will have to pay approximately Rs 2,988 per month for 18 months for availing the EMI scheme, under which the total cost of the phone will come out to be Rs 53,783, including the process fee. There also is a 6 months EMI scheme available, under which one can pay Rs 8,583.22 per month for 6 months.
