Numerous stories and documentaries have talked about the effects of rising sea level triggered by global warming. But none of them have quite the effect like seeing your city or town submerged in water and a Google Street View mod does exactly that.
To promote World Environment Day on June 5, crowdsourced CarbonStory in conjunction with marketing agencies BDDO and Proximity Singapore has created an interactive portal called WorldUnderWater.org. This portal is powered by Google Maps, and using Street View it shows what a place would look like when the sea levels rise.
As seen in the above photo, you can look for a place — the Gateway of India in this case — to see how it could potentially look in the future. In addition to the photo, the site also gives you facts about the effect of global warming. The portal also lets you share on Facebook and Twitter.
