The phone is powered by a Huawei’s HiSilicon Krin 910T quad-core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, and paired with Mali 450 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Internal memory is 16GB, which can be expanded by up to 32GB using microSD card. On the photography front, the Ascend P7 comes with a 13-megapixel camera with Sony BSI sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The talking point however is the massive 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with a BSI sensor and 5-pieces lens that can take wide-angle photos and IMAGESmart 2.0 software which is useful for auto-facial enhancements. It also has some additional shooting modes, including panoramic group photo mode, and some photo editing features.

The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat wrapped under the company’s latest version of the Emotion 2.3 user interface. This updated UI brings visual improvements and flatter app icons that is the trend these days. It also brings an updated Do Not Disturb mode and new power saver mode.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, though we are not sure if the LTE supported model will be launched in India as well. The phone comes with  Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS and NFC support. Other features in the phone include a 2,500mAh battery which can last for up to 404 hours on 4G standby mode and survive through 14 hours of talk time on one full charge. Color options include black, white and pink variants.

The phone has been announced for €449 (Rs 37,525) and will be up for sale in China from this month itself. There is currently no word on when Huawei plans on launching the device in India.
